Digivices are the main mechanic behind the connection between human and digimon, and manifest in a variety of models. Each model comes with a standard set of functions; data storage for opened digi-eggs, radar, GPS, and data scanning of nearby digimon for quick information. Each digivice, regardless of model, has a unique color scheme to each individual.

When a digidestined or tamer first arrives to the digital world, their digivice will manifest in one of a few 'basic' models. These digivices have the standard functions of all digivices, although these models all share the fact that they do not have ports for digi-modify cards. The most basic model, called a Digivice, is a palm-sized device with a screen and simple buttons [season 01]. A step-up from the Digivice is the D3 [season 02], with grips along the side and looks more like a walkie-talkie. A third form of the digivice is the Data-Link digivice [season 05], a smaller, thinner digivice type that also comes with the function of storing one digimon at a time for convenience sake during travels.

Most digivices can be upgraded to the D-Arc digivice [03], which is about the same size as the basic digivice, although it is triangular in shape. The D-Arc has a card reader at the top of the device, and is compatible with digi-modify cards, along with all the basic functions of digivices in general. Any digivice that isn't a D-Tector digivice can be upgraded to a D-Arc, and will upgrade IC spontaneously afterwards.

The final type of digivice is a very rare D-Tector digivice [season 04]. These devices can only be won in contests, and will be applied to the next character a player creates. These digivices are activated and sent to the human world when a new spirit has awoken and allow the human digidestined to become a digimon spirit warrior. These cannot be upgraded, are not compatible with digi-modify cards. Digidestined with D-Tector digivices can later befriend and recruit partner digimon.

crest of friendship - Showing undying loyalty to those that you can call a friend is an example of the powerful bonds between two or more individuals. A social butterfly, those who earn this crest show that they can interact with large groups rather well, and people are naturally drawn to them.

crest of love - Feelings of great affection, and the ability to love unconditionally is wonderful quality to have. Those who have earned this crest have proven that their love is a powerful emotion, and truly have a heart of gold.

crest of sincerity - Honest and open-minded, those who earn this crest have shown that they have hidden no secrets, and told no lies. They are known to wear their heart on their sleeve, making them vulnerable and are easily hurt.

crest of knowledge - Having knowledge doesn't mean that you are smarter than everyone else. It also means that you have the ability to understand, learn, and experience many things. This crest symbolizes this quality, as well as showing that knowledge is power.

crest of reliability - You know those people that you can always count on to be prepared? Or those that you can count on to always be late? Those DigiDestined that can be counted on for any number of things may find themselves a holder of the Crest of Reliability.

crest of hope - The Crest of Hope tends to be a rarer crest these days, given to those DigiDestined that can find hope even in the darkest of times. They're the ones that refuse to give up, even as the fat lady sings.

crest of light - A crest even rarer than the Crest of Hope, the Crest of Light is indeed a blessing to be cherished. DigiDestined that hold equal parts of two or more crest types, where there is no clear favor to any, are given the Crest of Light.

crest of kindness - Those that find it hard to be mean or cruel to anyone may find that their crest is the Crest of Kindness. DigiDestined that hold this crest are those that find it hard to hurt those around them.
